Priorities.
When I am elected to the Lawrence Township Board of Education, I will work in collaboration with my fellow Board members, the Superintendent, and district administration on the following priorities.
Curiosity. Ask tough questions of administration. Evaluate and analyze data presented. Call for corrective action plans when goals are missed.
Growth. Tough and achievable board goals, backed by action plans. Ensure teachers have the resources and support necessary to achieve these goals. Improve all student outcomes, while keeping an eye on State expectations.
Safety. Provide our students the tools and knowledge they need to deescalate and resolve conflict without violence. Engage with other community organizations who have a mission of reducing youth violence, teaching conflict resolution, and supporting young people. When necessary, hold building administrators responsible for enforcing a culture that raises the expectations of all students.
Dialogue. Seek input from the Lawrence Township community. Maintain open lines of communication whereby members of the community are invited to share their praises, concerns, and solutions.
Culture. Teachers and Staff deserve a voice. Promote a workplace culture where staff feedback is valued, welcomed, and acted upon. Anonymous yearly survey to understand and amplify the voice of teachers and staff. Exit interviews of all who leave LT through resignation or retirement. Increased pay for classified staff.
